Anibal Ambert, the leader of Uno Dos Trio, is one of Houston’s finest and most active musicians. He plays guitar, bass, and percussion, and also works as a composer, arranger, and ensemble leader. He maintains Key of Sí Productions, a recording studio where he produces, records, and edits all genres of music.

As a first-call Latin bassist, Anibal has provided the pulse for many renowned Latin recording artists, including Cheo Feliciano, Cano Estremera, and Ismael Miranda. He has recorded with Mark Towns (Flamenco Jazz Latino, Passion, and a forthcoming CD on Salongo Records), Gilbert Sedeno (Yo Puedo), Maria Williams (Rhythmic Remedy), the late Gil Valentin (Universal Rhythms) and Angelucho’s Copacabana Cuban Salsa Quintet.

He performs regularly throughout Houston with songstress Maria Williams and her ensemble, Mark Towns Flamenco Jazz Quintet, and Gilbert Sedeno. He also worked extensively with Norma Zenteno and Angelucho's Copacabana.

An expert in Latin, Latin Jazz, and R&B, his bass, guitar and percussive experience provide an authentic feel to his original compositions and arrangements. His music has been commissioned by and recorded for Dancevision and featured at the Dancesport International Ballroom Competitions in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe. He has created arrangements for many of Houston’s salsa and popular music bands like La Criolla, Orquesta Volcan, and Doppelganger, as well as singers Eileen Faxas, Amy Felan, and Norma Zenteno.

Educational outreach projects include performances with drummer and educator Bubbha Thomas, as part of his acclaimed Jazz and Poetry Series in Houston area schools. Anibal has also taught at Jazz Education Incorporated’s Summer Jazz Workshop for middle school students.
